Lucille Davy is an education policy consultant and practicing attorney.
In 2013, she was appointed to a four-year term on the National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB), an independent organization that oversees the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), otherwise known as “The Nation’s Report Card.”She was elected Vice Chair in 2015 and continues to serve in that role. Davy previously served as New Jersey’s Commissioner of Education from 2005 to 2010, during which she was also a member of the Council of Chief State School Officer’s Math and Science Education Task Force.
From 2010 through 2016 as a senior advisor to the Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy, she worked with national and state partners to promote effective implementation of the Common Core State Standards in English language arts and mathematics for students in kindergarten to grade 12, a joint effort of more than 40 states and the District of Columbia. She also served as Special Counsel for Education Policy for two New Jersey Governors.
Davy earned a B.S. degree in mathematics and graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School. A certified math teacher, she has taught mathematics in K-12 and at the college level.
